2024 Scholarships

The Ansonia, Seymour and Oxford Rotary Club is proud to announce that the Club (dba AnSeOx Rotary) will grant three (3) $1,000 scholarships to three (3) graduating high school seniors [or continuing education college students] who reside in the Towns of Ansonia, Seymour and Oxford. The graduating High School seniors (or continuing education college students) must be attending a four-year college or university full time in August/September 2024 to be eligible.

Since the motto of Rotary International is “SERVICE ABOVE SELF,” each applicant is asked to submit a (not more than) 500-word essay that addresses this theme:  SERVICE ABOVE SELF.  The essay should reflect on its meaning to you personally.  Relate it to your personal experience and articulate the importance of service in your life and to your community, state or throughout the world.

The AnSeOx Rotary Club will make checks payable directly to the college/university of each of the three successful applicants. The awardees must provide the Club verification of the student’s attendance and commitment (e.g. an invoice from college/university showing the student’s name, address and ID number) in order for this to be accomplished.

Deadline for essay submission is March 29, 2024. Please submit your application via email to [email protected]Also, include the following information with your essay:

  1. Name and home address
  2. Telephone number and Email address
  3. Name of your high school
  4. Copy of your academic transcript
  5. A list of your extracurricular and volunteer activities in the past year
  6. College/university name, address, and year of attendance

Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 15, 2024, and recipients will be asked to attend a club meeting to share their essay and college goals. The Club meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 5:00 PM at Rose’s Family Restaurant in Oxford.
